Tags

Label time entries with tags for flexible filtering in reports—by activity, phase, or anything your team agrees on.

Overview

Tags are short labels you attach to time entries. They are useful when one project contains many kinds of work and you want to split time without creating dozens of projects.

Create a tag

  1. Open Tags and create a new tag.
  2. Give it a clear name and pick a color so it is easy to spot.
  3. Optionally link the tag to specific projects when you create it, if that step appears.
  4. Save. You can add the tag when logging time on the Timer or in the calendar.

If you try to create a tag with the same name as one that already exists, Timen may reuse the existing tag instead of duplicating it.

Edit or delete a tag

  1. From the tag list, open the tag you want to change.
  2. Rename or recolor it, or remove it if you no longer need it.
  3. Deleting a tag affects how future filtering works; past entries may still show historical labels depending on how your workspace handles removal.

Tags and projects

Connecting a tag to projects limits where it appears or keeps tag lists tidy for large teams. You can still use tags broadly if your workflow does not require project links.

Who can manage tags

Managing tags in the Tags area requires permission. If you cannot open Tags, ask an admin to grant access or to create the tags your team needs.
