Which AI assistants can I use?
Timen works with Claude, ChatGPT, and other assistants that support compatible MCP connections. You'll need access to custom connections in your assistant; availability depends on your plan and workspace settings. Use the “Connect your assistant” link to get started.
Does it track my work automatically?
You tell your assistant when to start or stop a timer, or describe time you've already spent. For a missed entry, include when you worked, how long you spent, and the project. Timen records the time you ask it to track.
Is it free?
Timen is free, including the AI assistant connection. Your AI assistant may have its own subscription or plan requirements for connecting apps.
Where will my logged hours appear?
In Timen, alongside the time you track with the timer or add manually. You can review the entries in your timesheet and include them in reports. You can keep using Timen as usual after connecting an assistant.
Can I correct a time entry in chat?
Yes. Tell your assistant which entry to change and what needs fixing, such as the project, description, start and end times, or billable status. Include the day and the work you were doing so it can find the right entry.
Do I have to let it make changes?
No. Choose read-only access if you just want to ask questions about your time. Allow changes if you also want to start timers, log hours, or edit entries. Your assistant has access only to the Timen data your account can use.
How do I disconnect my assistant?
Open Settings → AI assistants in Timen and disconnect it. This stops the assistant from accessing Timen; the time you've already logged stays in your account.
Can I use these hours for invoicing?
Yes. Hours logged through your assistant are saved in Timen, where you can review billable time and create invoices. The assistant can list existing invoices when your account has access, but creating and sending invoices happens in Timen.
